I. Definition and Core Characteristics
Hotfix Pearl are a type of decorative pearl product with a hot-melt adhesive layer. They are fixed on the surface of substrates by means of "heating and pressing to melt the adhesive layer for bonding". Different from traditional decorative pearls that use "glue adhesion", their core features lie in "thermal bonding adhesion" and "convenient constructability". Compared with ordinary decorative pearls, Hotfix Flat Pearls have three key attributes:
1. Structural particularity: Composed of "pearl body + hot-melt adhesive layer", the thickness of the hot-melt adhesive layer is usually 0.1-0.3mm, and melting and bonding can be achieved at a temperature of 80-160℃;
2. Stability of adhesion: After bonding, the peel strength is ≥5N/25mm (industry standard), and the number of washable times can reach 20-50 times (depending on the type of adhesive layer), which is far superior to the 5-10 times of ordinary glue adhesion;
3. Construction efficiency: Can be applied in batches through manual heating pens, high-frequency heat presses, and automatic pearl attaching machines. The bonding time per pearl is ≤3 seconds, suitable for large-scale production.
II. Classification System
According to material, shape, hot-melt adhesive characteristics and application scenarios, Hotfix Pearls can be divided into the following categories, and different types correspond to differentiated usage needs:
1. Ceramic pearls: The pearl body is made of ceramics and sprayed on the surface, featuring high surface gloss, high hardness, and firm and high-temperature resistant adhesive base.
2. Aluminum pearls: The pearl body is made of aluminum through cutting and polishing, and sprayed on the surface, having the advantages of light weight, low cost, and firm and high-temperature resistant adhesive base.
3. Resin pearls: The pearl body is integrally formed with resin material, characterized by non-fading and low cost. Suitable for low-temperature ironing, but the firmness of the adhesive base is general.
